The Section Control File from Drillholes Database tool allows users to generate section control files directly from the extents of drillholes in an interactive and streamlined way to define and export sections. Please note that this tool is only accessible to clients with the Exploration Module.
The Section Control File from Drillholes database tool is located in the Sections panel. Ensure that your license includes access to the Exploration Module before proceeding.
Unlike the traditional method using string files, (1) this tool uses your database as the input.
Once the tool is activated, the extent will appear in Vizex. The user can expand or rotated interactively by clicking on Edit Extents (2) - see image above and moving the anchor points which would be activated by default - see image below. Alternatively, the extents could be defined by inputting the parameters such as East, North, Rotations, Width and Lengths in the corresponding box.
Next, the user will need to input parameters such as step size, azimuth, length, etc., for the sections which can be previewed in Vizex to ensure the desired spacing,
After that, in the output tab, the results can be exported as either string file, section control file or both. The section control file can then be used as input for plotting via macro workflow in Micromine.
