Nexus 2024 has introduced the ability to display drillhole data in the web viewer. This change allows you to easily show drilling data with people who do not have access to Origin, like upper level management or investors.
A previous article outlined how to use the Nexus Viewer. Now let's look at displaying and coloring drillhole data.
First, open the desired drillhole data, then expand that data in the Layers panel. Click on the colour set button to open the Edit Colour Sets panel.
Next, click on Select Interval File to choose which interval data to create a colour set for. Then you can choose the specific Colour Field, which will give you different options depending on if it is a Numeric or Text data type.
In this example, the OXIDE field contains a text data type, and the options for my colour set will be based on the unique values in that field. This data set has Oxide, Trans, or Fresh as unique values. Click the Random Colour or Colour Ramp buttons to create a row for each value.
You can toggle visibility for various intervals by clicking on the Eye in each row.
For a numeric data field, the process is slightly different. In this example, we'll look at gold assay values. Select the Interval File, Colour Field, and you see a new option: number of percentiles. This option will populate the colour set with rows based on the number of percentiles you choose. Click Colour Ramp or Random Colour, and it will generate the bins.
For numeric data, you can customize the cutoff values for each range. Simply click on the number and type in the preferred cutoff value for that row.
You can customize the colours by clicking on the coloured square in each row, which gives you a menu of other colours to choose from.
If you have created multiple colour sets, you are able to easily toggle between them by switching between their tabs.
That's it! This is a single-use setup. If you want to learn about syncing form sets through Nexus, take a look at our other Knowledge Base articles.
