Have you ever generated a complex wireframe, for example, a series of grade shells from a block model, and wanted to know the volume of each distinct part? In the image below, you can see the results of a wireframe volume report. Total volume for the entire wireframe is useful, but I want to know the volume of that one section in the top left.
This is the perfect time to use the Wireframe | Editing | Separate tool.
In the form setup, you can help minimize the number of solids created by using the Discard Volumes option. I have it set to discard volumes that are equivalent to one 10x10x10 block in the model.
When I run a Wireframe Volume report on the resulting wireframes, each solid appears as its own line item. Clicking on a solid in the Vizex gives me the volume for just that part.
