In this article, we will go through the process of borrowing a new cloud licenсe. The new cloud licensing system requires the user to be online to use Micromine Origin & Beyond software. However, if the user needs to go offline, they can borrow a licenсe for a defined period of time.
To borrow a Micromine Origin & Beyond cloud licence, follow these steps:
- Go to Project – Licence backstage menu
Find Go Offline – Borrow licence button in the Licence list:
In the Borrow License window, read the information about the borrowing process and click Next.
2. Select the Borrow Duration. This period is limited by the settings of your licence. Click Next to finish this process.
Once the licence is borrowed, you will see a Borrowing Successful status along with the Borrow End Date.
Please note, once the borrow period ends, you must be online to automatically return the borrowed licence and resume regular online use. You will not be able to use your borrowed licence once the borrowing period ends.
Click Finish to finish the process.
You will see the Borrow Period End Date in Licence Information, along with a "lock" icon on your cloud licence.
The Switch Licence menu will not be active on the borrowed seat.
To return the Micromine Origin & Beyond cloud licence before the borrow end date, the user needs to go to the Licence backstage menu and select Go Online – Return Licence.
In the Return Borrowed Licence window, click Next. A message will appear saying Borrowed Licence Return Successful, and the licence will be returned to the pool.
*This error will appear if the user tries to borrow a licence on another active Micromine Origin & Beyond instance after already borrowing the licence from a different instance.
