In the article, we will provide a step-by-step guide on how to use a network licence that is hosted on your organization's Micromine Network Licence Server (NLS) to begin using Micromine Origin & Beyond.
The following article is safe for Origin & Beyond users to follow and will not impact the configuration of the Network Licence Server.
Steps
- Launch Micromine Origin & Beyond.
- At the Welcome to Micromine Origin & Beyond window, click Use network license server.
- You will be prompted to enter the server address. Type in the IP Address in the format below. If you don't know what the IP address is, you may need to clarify with your IT department/provider. 6200@IPAddress or 6200@hostname
- Click OK and the Please wait while we scan the local network message will appear.
- If there is only one license feature enabled on your Network License Server, Origin & Beyond will begin to launch. If multiple are found, you will be prompted to select your preferred license configuration and click OK.
Troubleshooting
If you are having an error connecting and using a network licence, kindly follow the steps below to perform a quick check on the network licence server.
- Pressing Win +R to open the Run window and enter services.msc.

On the new Window, Scroll down to find the status of the Micromine Network License Server service.
- Ensure that the status of the Micromine Network Licence Server service is Running. If this does not appear to be the case, right-click the service and click Start.
- Once it is confirmed to be running, kindly launch Micromine Origin & Beyond.
