Imagine this: you've got the latest drilling data and high-grade samples looking pretty in the Vizex. All you need is that fancy and detailed new topography DEM and you're ready to print property-scale maps with the best intersection highlights. You go to import your .tif and - to your horror, the file is too big and throws this error:
So now what? There are a couple of options.
You can drag-and-drop the .tif file into Origin and it will load in that format. This is great for viewing only, but limits your options for calculations later.
Try using the Grid Convert | Grid to DTM to turn your .tif into a wireframe, but setup less detail in the sampling spacing. I've chosen a 7x7 sampling spacing instead of the default 1x1. This will generate a slightly less detailed DTM, but this has a relatively low impact if your starting data is incredibly detailed.
I hope this gets the big topographies loaded up quickly so you can get to the real work of data analysis and planning.
