Micromine offers a wide array of tools for line design and editing, all accessible through the Design tab in the Main menu. In Micromine Origin & Beyond 2024, a highly convenient tool has been introduced: Replace With Curve
This tool operates in two modes:
- Replace With Curve - Replace parts of strings with either Bezier curves controlled by interactive handles
- Replace String - Replace parts of strings by digitising new segments
How does it work?
In the first mode, after clicking the button, the program prompts us to select a portion of the string.
We press the left mouse button and drag it over the section of the string we are interested in to select the desired part. Afterward, interactive handles will appear, allowing us to adjust the shape of our line.
To complete the process, simply right-click once. If you press Esc, the changes will not be applied.
In the second mode, you can draw the desired fragment manually. After selecting this function, the program prompts you to select a part of the string for editing. Then, by clicking the left mouse button once, you can draw the new position of the string. When you're finished, right-click once.
In practice, this can be used, for example, in pit design.
Let's say, at the 200mRL horizon, you've drawn the pit floor
When moving to the next horizon at 215mRL, the shape of the ore body can change significantly, and you may need to add mining area.
For area a pictures above, you can use the second mode, Replace String.
For area b, you can use Replace With Curve.
You can watch the process of using the new tools in the GIF below:
